KASHI: Unplanned Trip Of A Day

It is evening around 4:00 pm I am in Mirzapur just 60 km from Varanasi, I thought to visit the city of temples: Varanasi because I am very close to it. I packed my luggage and took all the needy stuff, booked an auto for the Mirzapur bus stand. It is late eve 6:00 pm so I am not getting any bus and getting irritated a little bit, after waiting for an hour I took a bus for Varanasi, and finally, now the journey begins.

I reached Varanasi (also known as Kashi and Banaras) at 9:00 pm, my stomach is empty so I searched for a restaurant for 'pet puja' (an Indian phrase for a hungry person) and felt happy, excited for the next day to explore such a faithful city. I already booked my hotel while I was on the bus so I called my cab just to reach my hotel. I am so tired and slept after reaching my room.

EXPLORING DAY.

I woke up at 8:00 am, drink warm water, and got ready myself at 9:30 am. Firstly I decided to go to Ramnagar fort which is 14 km from Varanasi, booked my cab for it and it is all set, ready to go!!

About Ramnagar fort:

This fort was built by Kashi Naresh Maharaja Balwant Singh in 1750, this structure was built in the Mughal style. Inscriptions on the outer ramparts of the fort date to the 17th century.

This fort has a museum that ends at the holy river Ganges nearby which makes it more attractive and beautiful. Ramnagar fort was not as large as I thought it would be but you should visit once for exploring this structure.

Sharing some best shots of a fort with you:

I moved out and tried aloo chat and shikanji from the street food corner just outside the fort and planned to move ahead to Dashashwamedh Ghat. This is for what Kashi is famous for its Ghats, the city has around 88 Ghats.

Dashashwamedh Ghat:

Reached out to Dashashwamedh Ghat by auto and rickshaw, automobiles are not allowed within 500m of Ghat. I walked around the market and had some shopping fun! Kashi has good artwork crafts.

I walked to the Ghat my plan was that I will take a boat and will explore all the Ghats but due to the overflowing of the river Ganges boating was stopped as per safety measures, but if you visit in the summer season then try boating with minimal charges because it is the easiest way to reach out most of the Ghats.

I came upstairs and saw a museum which is near the Ghat it is free of cost now but otherwise, its charges are 150rs per person, I walked in and was literally surprised that how could I leave this place, this museum shares the history of Kashi with 3-d shows and for what Kashi is famous for, it explains it perfectly. 3-d shows are running in Hindi and English language, and many Indians and foreigners visit this place to enjoy the shows and learn more about culture and history.

Shots inside the museum:

I walked out toward the main road in between I also took a snap at the gate of Kashi Vishwanath Temple, due to much rush I am unable to reach out there as it is 5:00 pm evening, and there is a lot of traffic on Kashi roads. I booked my cab for the hotel in between that I also visited the famous 'Chachi ki kachoriyan' and 'Pahlawan ki lassi', as I am hungry also, most of the celebrities reached there to eat and enjoy this.

After reaching the hotel I took my luggage and checked out from the hotel and moved to Varanasi railway station as it was just a single-day trip.
